U.S. National Kubb Championship

What is Kid Kubb?
Since 2007, one of our focuses has been introducing kids to kubb. This has been done at schools, park and recreation programs, events, and more. Kid Kubb was the first kubb event in the U.S. that is specifically for kids. All teams are guaranteed three matches, each of which has a 30 minute time limit. Visit Eau Claire will be at Kid Kubb playing music. Teams will play with U.S. Championship kubb sets. All players will receive a Kid Kubb 2017 pennant, U.S. Championship shirt, and Culver's frozen custard. Kid Kubb is open to any child that is 12 years old or younger on August 30, 2017. Teams can pay in advance or at Kid Kubb.

Schedule:

Friday
8am-9am:  sign-in/practice
8:45am: player meeting
9am:  round-robin Group Play games
10:30am:  playoffs start (three rounds)

Saturday

8:15am: Top four teams will receive their podium medals before the start of the 2017 U.S. Championship.

Teams:
 
Minimum of two players on a team (no player may throw more than three batons and no player may throw more than two batons in a row). All participating players will receive a Kid Kubb pennant, 2017 U.S. Championship shirt, and Culver's frozen custard.  Kid Kubb is open to any child that is 12 years old or younger.

Cost:

$10/player.
 
Format:
Pitches: Pitches will measure seven meters long and five meters wide.

Group Play: Teams are placed in groups of four. Each team will play three round-robin matches in their group. All matches are best-of-three, with a 30 minute time-limit.

Playoffs: The top team in each group will advance to the playoffs. The second place teams will compete in a throw-off to advance to the playoffs. Throw-offs will consist of inkasting three kubbs and each team knocking over as many field kubbs and baseline kubbs as they can with six batons.
